Submission Guidelines

Imzadi Publishing accepts submissions exclusively from authors and only for completed works. Submissions of works-in-progress or those submitted by individuals other than the author will not be considered for publication.

STEP 1: INITIAL SUBMISSION

Submit a cover letter to imzadipublishing@outlook.com containing the following details:

  • A brief summary of your book.

  • Indication if the work is part of a series.

  • The total word count of the completed manuscript.

  • Your real name and pen name (if applicable).

  • The title of your book.

  • The intended genre of your book.

  • Previous publisher (if this work has been previously published.)

  • Copy and paste the first chapter, and only the first chapter, of your completed work into the body of the email for our review.

Please do not send your entire manuscript at this stage. Submissions that fail to follow these guidelines will not be considered.

Once your submission has been received, please allow up to one month for review.

STEP 2: MANUSCRIPT REQUEST

If your initial submission meets our criteria, Imzadi Publishing will contact you to request the full manuscript. At that time, please ensure that you:

  • Follow our Manuscript Formatting Guidelines when submitting.

  • If  your full copy meets our house standards, we will make a decision on whether or not to offer you a contract.

IMPORTANT NOTE:  If your manuscript has been previously published by another publishing house, you must provide proof of reversion rights demonstrating that the rights to your work have been legally released, allowing you to publish elsewhere.

What exactly are reversion rightsReversion rights refer to the contractual rights that allow an author to regain ownership of their work from a publisher under certain conditions, as outlined in their publishing agreement. These rights essentially "revert" the publishing rights back to the author, enabling them to republish or otherwise use their work as they see fit.

Imzadi Publishing conducts thorough checks to verify whether submitted works have been previously published. Submissions of previously published manuscripts will not be accepted without documented proof of reversion rights.

Manuscript Formatting Guidelines

General Requirements:

1.  Spacing:

  • The manuscript must be double-spaced.

2.  Paragraph Formatting:

  • Use the indent function in your word processing program (usually found under Format → Paragraph) to set the first-line indentation to 1 cm or 0.5 inches.

  • Do not use spaces or tabs to create indentations. Following proper formatting is an essential expectation for authors.

3.  Headers and Footers:

  • Do not add headers, footers, or page numbers to your manuscript.

  • Your name and additional formatting details are not required on every page. Avoid unnecessary elements, as these will need to be removed during our formatting process.

4.  Graphics and Backgrounds:

  • Remove all graphics, watermarks, or background images.

  • If your project requires illustrations (e.g., graphic novels or children’s books), Imzadi Publishing will provide specific instructions after manuscript review. Our Graphics Department will handle all related elements.

5.  Page Breaks:

  • Page breaks are permitted but not required.

6.  Clean Copy:

  • Remove all comments, tracked changes, or visible corrections before submitting your manuscript. A clean copy is essential for review.

7.  File Formats:

  • Manuscripts must be submitted in a text-based file format such as .doc, .docx, .rtf, or .txt.

  • Submissions in any other format will be rejected.

Following these guidelines ensures a smooth review process and demonstrates professionalism. Thank you for your cooperation.
