I Found My Heart in Prague – Narrated by Dane Petersen

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Very Good Romance – I don’t usually read romances, but this was good. It was a genuine tear-jerker with a satisfying ending. Also has some unique destinations. Very good, the perfect beach read.

Rating: 5 out of 5.

The Last Holiday – When reading this book I thought of the movie the last holiday, however this storyline brings an even greater twist, the character takes the lemons and turns them into lemonade.

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Loved it! – I’m a sucker for a good love story, but I tend to avoid the tear jerkers. You know from the description this one won’t have a happily ever after, but I’m so glad I took a chance on it. Loved the characters, loved the setting, and it’s such a sweet, heartfelt story. A very enjoyable read.

The hardest part of writing at times is knowing too much.

In the case of THE RED HAND, the Frank Nagler Mystery series prequel, that was surely the case. I had written three books about Frank Nagler, Ironton. N.J., and set out to write the fourth.

I had a choice – Go forward, or go back and examine the story from the beginning.

I went back, deciding answering questions about the past would help the series move forward.

That’s went it got hard.

I knew too much about Frank and the town and the story that needed to be told.

And it showed up in the writing, which was flat, predictable and boring.

There is this: If as a writer you are bored with what you are putting on paper, the reader will be, too.

So, I started over by beginning the story in the middle.

It worked.

It gave…

The fourth, THE RED HAND, a prequel to the series, was published on June 30.

This is the story of The Weight of Living: A young girl is found in a grocery store Dumpster on a cold March night wearing just shorts and a tank top. She does not speak to either Detective Frank Nagler, the social worker called to the scene, or later to a nun, who is an old friend of Nagler’s.

What appears to be a routine…

An interesting and thoughtful review of Jerry Gerold’s “Faith Lost”…a truly unique story.

Jessica Belmont

New 5-star review for ‘The Weight of Living’

Another wonderful 5 star review for The Weight of Living!!

Michael Stephen Daigle

New 5-star Goodreads review of “The Weight of Living:” “What a great read! A complex plot in a gloomy setting with characters honed to perfection. Detective Frank Nagler is one of those characters that could be real; intuitive, dedicated, but with baggage and a soft spot. My kind of guy. I’m not usually drawn into a story like I was this one. I finished the book in record time.” Thanks, Marc Cullison.

Also, The Author’s Show will repeat my interview for 24 hours starting at midnight Monday, April 22.:

Why writing a first draft is like performing stand-up with hecklers

This was so much fun to read!

Michael Stephen Daigle

“She…”

Who’s that?

What?

Who’s she?

The woman in the story. I don’t know. I haven’t named her yet.

How are we supposed to like her if she hasn’t got a name?

How do you know you’re supposed to like her? Maybe she’s a thief.

Is she going to be a thief?

Possibly. Maybe I want to save that detail as a surprise to the reader.

Readers don’t like surprises.

Um, “Marylyn…”

That’s a weird spelling.

“Alright. “Marilyn…”

No. Too Marilyn Monroe-ish.

What?

You’ll need a male character who looks like Clark Gable.

I’m not writing a 1950s black-and-white movie.

Nice hyphens.

Look, I’ll call her George or Bill. It disguises her sexuality.

Oh, how au currant.

Could I just write something?!

Sure. Go head. We’ll wait.

Alright. “She banged her head…”

Name!

“George banged her head on the locked front door glass when she realized she had left her…
